Forests are places of inspiration and myth.
They are some of the most biologically rich habitats on Earth, home to 2/3 of the world's land animal and plant species.

However, many forests are endangered. In the last 50 years, 20% of the world's ancient forests have been cut down or destroyed.
That means that many unique species of animals and plants are losing their homes and are threatened by extinction.
And extinction is forever.

So what can you do to help save our planet's forests?
:thumb102723815:
Reduce you paper consumption
-Think before you print, "Do I really need to print this?"
-Print your documents double-sided when possible, and use both sides of a sheet of paper
-Use electronic resources instead of paper when possible
-Make sure that you recycle the paper that you do use.
:thumb102559185: :thumb105412348:
Be mindful of what you buy
-Buy paper products with high recycled content
-Make sure that wood and timber products you buy have the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) label, which ensures that these products did not come from illegal logging activities
-Find out in your area which lumber is plantation grown and which is harvested from old growth forests in damaging methods (don't buy old growth forest products)
:thumb101840712: :thumb102177958: :thumb102913234: :thumb103058196:
-Spread the word about forests, how important they are not only from an ecological standpoint, but also how they enrich and support the lives of many people.
-Teach your children and those around you about sustainable living practices
:thumb103865930:
Remember always that every little bit helps and that you can make a difference in the future of our planet.

Final Updates
Hello anyone,
I no longer use this page. If you are looking for me, please find me here orhere
Blog Party
Hello hello!
I've started a new blog, twofeetphoto.tumblr.com , which I intend to fill with all sorts of lovely photo tips and such. These tips will range from beginner to advanced tips, technical tips, and general artistic tips.
I hope to also branch out and cover some more general nature information, and maybe also some info on the state parks/hiking trails/etc that I like to frequent for photos.
There's only one post up right now (7/18), but I hope to post once or twice-weekly.
If anyone has any questions/suggestions for me, you can leave them as comments in this journal :)
Peace out!
Prints?
Do any of you guys sell prints? If so, what kind of service do you use? I am currently thinking about dA and redbubble...has anyone used either of these? Which one do you like better and why??
...or do you use something else? Or are you a poor starving artist who can't sell any prints?
Macro Equipment?
I was wondering if any of you guys do macro photography and, if so, what kinds of lenses/equipment you use.
I was thinking of (officially) getting into macro myself, and was looking into buying either the 105mm Sigma macro lens or the 50mm Sigma macro. Do any of you use either of these lenses? Any other tips/suggestions for macro?
